Reality?
7:49
The album’s title track is one of the first songs, written and recorded in the middle 2000s. It went through some revisions, but the core of it is essentially the same. It’s a quasi-philosophical discussion of what Reality actually is (and whether or not it even exists in the first place). It’s a universal question that has been pondered forever and there will never be an absolute answer. The vocal delivery shows some Zappa-esque shades, maybe?
‘Reality?’ is played using Standard Tuning.
Reality? Lyrics
Life, life is not real
But what, what seems to be
The things, the things I feel
Only matter, only matter to me
A bright sunny day
Can bring blackness to the soul
A sky dark and gray
Can bring happiness untold
We live each day
Seeing through our mind’s eye
No right or wrong
We decide, what is truth, what is lie
Guitar Solo
Black and White, they’re one and the same
Make your mark
Or assign your blame
Truth is relative
Endless, endless rhetoric I’ve heard
Confounding, confounding my weary mind
Knowing, knowing it’s absurd
Is the consolation I find
It’s all an illusion
A matter of perception
Living in mass confusion
Wanting acceptance, fearing delusion
Reality?
It doesn’t exist
On trivial thoughts, what time we’ve missed
Each day is yours...to do as you please
To bring you up
Or bring you...
To your knees
